T'ai Chi is a rich and rewarding activity. It melds together ancient wisdom and philosophy, advanced body mechanics, meditation and martial arts into a unified and exciting tapestry. From the outside T'ai Chi appears to be gentle but when done properly a huge amount of force can be generated easily without muscular strain.

T'ai Chi has a reputation for promoting good health and because of this it is performed extensively in China. There is an increasingly large body of scientific research supporting the benefits of regular T'ai Chi practice for many specific health problems.
